Imam Pasand mangoes, also known as Himayat, Himam Pasand, or Humayun Pasand, are a premium variety primarily grown in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, India. They are large, typically weighing 300–800 grams each, with two to three making a kilogram. Renowned for their regal appeal, they feature thin, smooth skin that transitions from mottled green to yellow-green with a reddish blush when ripe, often marked by distinctive white spots. The flesh is fibreless, buttery, and juicy, with a rich, sweet flavor accented by citrus, coconut, and floral notes, and a strong, fragrant aroma. Historically favored by Indian royalty, including Mughal emperor Humayun, they are considered the “King of Mangoes” by connoisseurs. Available from April to July, peaking in May-June, they have a moderate shelf life but are sensitive to transport due to their thin skin.
