Alphonso Mango

Alphonso mangoes, often called the “King of Mangoes,” originate from the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. They are medium-sized, typically weighing 150–300 grams each, with four to six making a kilogram. Renowned for their rich, creamy, and non-fibrous golden-yellow pulp, they offer a sweet, aromatic flavor with a hint of saffron. The skin is thin, smooth, and vibrant yellow-orange when ripe. Alphonso mangoes are less disease-resistant than some varieties but highly prized for their taste. They are available from March to June, peaking in April-May, with a moderate shelf life.
